Mace Construct, the UK contracting business, will adopt the name Forco after trading under its current name until the New Year, the company has said. The contractor described the new name as short, impactful and easy to pronounce.
The change follows the separation of Mace Construct and Mace Consult into two businesses in March. Under that agreement, Mace Consult retained the Mace brand, while the contracting arm continued as Mace Construct ahead of its own rebrand.
Forco will be introduced alongside a new corporate strategy and productivity targets running through to 2030. The company said the name represents a commitment to being the UK's most forward-thinking contractor and to being its most productive by 2030.
Mark Reynolds, executive chair, said Mace Construct, soon to be Forco, had spent 35 years raising standards and helping to drive the industry forward. He said the new name represented a clear commitment to that forward-thinking and productivity goal.
Reynolds added that the qualities that made the contractor one of the UK's most respected had not changed, including its culture, values and people. Clients should expect the same teams, the same commitment to delivery and the same drive to create lasting places and infrastructure, he said.
The company presented the rebrand as a change of name and brand, with continuity in client-facing teams and delivery commitments. The new corporate strategy and productivity targets are due to be unveiled alongside the Forco name.
